Uzbekistan's Spaceborne reaches finals of Constructor Start Demo Day in Bremen

The fourth Demo Day of the Constructor Start program has selected 16 finalists from more than 2,100 applications submitted by people of 94 nationalities. Spaceborne, a startup from Uzbekistan, is one of the finalists. The final will be held on September 21 in Bremen, Germany, where investment decisions will be announced on stage.

Spaceborne develops microwave thermal propulsion technology for satellite engines. It is the first team from Uzbekistan to reach the fourth cohort, alongside Hi Holo from Tbilisi, the first startup from Georgia. Constructor Start says these selections are part of its strategy to find technology companies in markets where DeepTech is still underrepresented among investors.

Constructor Capital invests $100,000 in each winning team in exchange for equity. Investments totaling $300,000 have been confirmed in the current selection. Beyond direct funding, finalists get access to potential extra capital through a network of venture funds and angel investors, with the total available amount reaching up to $1 million. Decisions are based on mission and vision, product, pricing model and scalability.

According to the program, graduates of the previous Demo Day raised more than $10 million in follow-on funding after last year's selection. The cohort also includes two startups built at Constructor University. Causenex is developing predictive maintenance for industrial assets using plug-in sensors and causal AI. Cytokyn M is working on a next-generation IL-1 receptor antagonist to treat Long Covid and chronic inflammation linked to aging.

The event will also include discussions with researchers, founders and investors on advanced technologies, their commercialization and company building.
