TakeWord is a camera-based vocabulary-learning app. Learners point a camera at an object to create a word card containing its name in the target language, a translation, pronunciation and example sentences. The product turns familiar objects into a personal collection of vocabulary to study. Captured words can be organised by topic or date and revisited through spaced repetition. Review exercises ask learners to recall words or complete missing words in sentences, while mnemonic prompts provide additional context for remembering them. TakeWord is available for iPhone and through a web interface.
