Freedom Ventures Ltd is the venture arm of Freedom Holding Corp, registered at the Astana International Financial Centre on 8 July 2025 through the brokerage company Freedom Kazakhstan Ltd. Its charter capital is KZT 5 billion, around $9 million. Olga Baskakova was appointed CEO. The fund sits inside the ecosystem of Freedom Holding Corp, founded by Timur Turlov, which is listed on Nasdaq and operates across Kazakhstan, Cyprus, the United States, the United Kingdom, Armenia, the UAE, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. By the end of 2023 the holding had put about $136 million into Kazakh startups, which makes it the country's largest startup investor by volume. Freedom's approach is strategic rather than classic venture: Turlov has said publicly that he does not consider himself a venture investor and buys startups to strengthen the group's ecosystem, data and teams rather than to resell them. Assets acquired this way include Arbuz, Aviata.kz, Chocotravel, Ticketon, Paybox, Naimi.kz, Relog, Cerebra, Citix and EasyTap. At CEVF 2026 Freedom Holding was named best corporate open innovation strategy.
