Wallet in Telegram rebrands as Walt, a universal crypto app to complement Telegram's Gram wallet

Wallet in Telegram is now Walt. The company announced the rebrand on September 29, 2026, turning a simple wallet into a universal crypto app built for Telegram. The change comes ahead of the launch of Gram, Telegram's own wallet, which will soon be available to all users of the messenger.

Gram will be the entry point for Telegram's billion users. With it, people can buy the Gram token, send gifts, buy Stars, transfer money and pay in thousands of apps and services. Walt is designed for more advanced crypto work, and the two products form a two-level financial ecosystem inside Telegram. Walt will also provide the infrastructure that lets users top up the Gram wallet directly from Walt.

Walt supports 300+ assets across 4 blockchains, trading of 200+ crypto assets and 100+ tokenized stocks, ETFs and metals. It also offers Earn products on dollar stablecoins and on Gram, Tether Gold, Solana, Ethereum and Tron, plus perpetual futures on 70+ assets, including oil, natural gas and metals. Crypto cards for everyday spending and AI-assisted trading are coming, with separate announcements planned.

Walt is built by The Open Platform (TOP) and integrated with the TON blockchain. Andrey Rogozov, founder and CEO of TOP and Walt, said the brand now matches what the product has become: from a simple wallet for buying Toncoin and bitcoin to a full crypto platform inside Telegram in four years. The company says it will present an updated product strategy in the coming weeks.
