Startup Roast will take place in Tashkent on November 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Founders will pitch their projects to a panel of investors, and the investors will publicly analyze the business model, market, metrics, team, and real barriers to growth. The exact venue address will be announced later.

The format is designed to avoid the typical “you’re doing great, but…” rejection. Usually, an investor delivers a rejection politely and with a delay, after having already mentally decided not to invest. At Startup Roast, the critique happens out loud and in front of the audience.

For the audience, this is an opportunity to see investors’ reasoning in action: how they think, what points they latch onto, and on what grounds they say “no.” You can watch from the audience; you don’t need to go on stage with a project to do so.
