Wildberries buys state stake in Uzbekistan's postal operator UzPost

Russian marketplace Wildberries has acquired a state-owned stake in national postal operator UzPost through its joint venture company RVB (Wildberries & Russ).

According to sources, the deal had been in the works for quite some time.

UzPost said it is considering investment to modernize infrastructure, develop logistics, expand its branch network and digitalization.

Wildberries, for its part, has plans in Uzbekistan: the co-founder and CEO of the Uzum ecosystem said the number of outlets could exceed 1,000 by 2026, and that delivery via postal infrastructure could account for 10% of all Uzum Market orders.
