Uzbekistan to allocate $100 mln to startups and launch a contest for young entrepreneurs
Uzbekistan will allocate an additional $100 million for the creation and development of startups. The funds will be used to commercialize 1,000 youth startup ideas, launch 200 projects in foreign markets and create 100 companies with international potential.
For the first seven months of 2025, foreign investment in Uzbekistan's startups totaled $264 million, four times more than in all of 2024. More than 600 startups are operating in the country.
The annual Young Entrepreneur competition will begin this year. The 100 best startups will be selected, and each will receive up to 1 billion soums in investment. The state will reimburse the cost of hiring experts in finance and marketing. Winners will be awarded August 20 on Entrepreneur Day. The initiative is part of the Uzbekistan 2030 strategy. The Agency for Youth Affairs will select projects and provide soft loans of up to 1,000 BRV (412m UZS).
