DOMiNO Ventures launches international private venture fund in Uzbekistan
Global venture capital fund DOMiNO Ventures (Netherlands) announced the launch of DOMiNO Uzbekistan Fund with a target investment of $20 million.
The fund will invest in early and late stage startups in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Deeptech and Cleantech. It operates as a feeder fund for the global DOMiNO fund and provides access to international markets, investors and expertise.
DOMiNO has already invested in 7 startups in the region and has launched the BetterFuture accelerator program for early-stage teams 4 times. The new fund will continue to develop the ecosystem and take projects outside the region.
The fund is registered with IT Park. It will attract international co-investors and support export and technology transfer.
Anchor investor is UzVC, managed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The commitment is $10 million. The goal is to increase the flow of private venture capital and develop the startup ecosystem.
The fund aims to scale local solutions and increase Central Asia's role in the global innovation economy.
